“Pro se” means handling your case without a lawyer representing you.

Pro se clinics offer free help preparing certain immigration forms and documents. Depending on the clinic, this may include asylum applications, work permit applications, or certain appeal documents.

What help can I receive?

Services vary. Contact each clinic to ask:

  • Can you help with the form or document I need?

  • Do I qualify for your services?

  • Can you help before my deadline?

  • What documents should I bring?

  • Is help available in my language?

Will the clinic represent me?

Help with paperwork does not mean the clinic will become your lawyer or attend immigration court, an ICE check-in, or an asylum interview with you.

Some clinics have lawyers who provide advice or review documents without taking on full representation. Ask exactly what assistance the clinic will provide.
