Mock Asylum Interview Practice for Affirmative USCIS Cases
Practice your asylum interview online in a safe, realistic environment with expert guidance, so when the day comes, you’ll know exactly what to expect.
Service description
Facing your asylum interview with USCIS can be one of the most important—and stressful—moments in your immigration journey. Our Mock Asylum Interview Practice is designed to help you feel prepared, confident, and ready.
This is a fully online service, so you can join from anywhere in the U.S. The session is conducted by Paulina Leyva, a member of RIF’s legal team with extensive experience supporting asylum seekers. During this private session, you will go through a realistic simulation of your USCIS affirmative asylum interview, including the types of questions you are most likely to hear from an asylum officer.
If you plan to use an interpreter in your real interview, we strongly recommend that they join you for the mock session. This will allow you to practice the pace, communication, and coordination you’ll need on the day of your interview.
The session is designed to feel as close as possible to the real experience, followed by constructive feedback to help you refine your answers and better organize your story.
Each session lasts 1–2 hours and is conducted securely via Zoom.

Micro–FAQ
1. What if I don’t have an interpreter?
If you will need an interpreter in your real USCIS interview, we highly recommend bringing one to your mock session. If you don’t have one yet, you can still book the session to practice your answers, but it won’t fully reflect the timing and flow of your actual interview.
2. What if I don’t have an interview date yet?
You can still reserve your session if you expect your date soon. We recommend booking within 1–2 months of your real interview for the best preparation.
3. How will the session be conducted?
All mock interviews are done online via Zoom, so you can join from anywhere in the U.S. You’ll receive a secure link once your booking is confirmed.
4. Will you review my application before the session?
Yes. We ask that you upload your complete asylum application (Form I-589 and supporting documents) when booking. Paulina Leyva will review it before your session to tailor the questions and feedback to your case.
5. How long will it take?
Sessions typically last between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the complexity of your case and the number of follow-up questions.
